Conservatory Cleaners Llanelli|UPVC Cleaning
Conservatories are a nice additional room in your property and bring the outside in to your home. They look bright and clean when new however over time they can start to loose some of their lustre and can begin to look a little grubby.
Algae is usually the first thing that detracts from the conservatory. The roof, finals and frame go a little green around the edges and algae will even grow on the glass if unchecked, our wet British climate means that algae can grow very rapidly, especially parts of the conservatory that get little sun.
Living near the coast in Llanelli we can often hear and see the seagulls flying overhead, but seagulls mean seagull mess, and its not attractive when you are trying to relax in your conservatory and you have to look at it splattered all over the roof! General dirt and traffic film can also make the conservatory look grubby.
If the conditions are right, which they usually are in Wales, then moss may also be found on the conservatory, usually the roof, around the seals where it can get some purchase to grow. If you see moss growing on the roof, its worth clearing it away as it can sometimes cause damage to the seals by constantly holding moisture on the seal causing oxidation, eventually the rubber seals may perish.
An occasional deep clean of the outside of your conservatory can keep it looking good and will help to avoid problems with moss growing under seals.
We can simply clean the roof and windows for you, or conduct a full conservatory valet if you want the very best protection to maintain your conservatory or orangery.
When conducting a full valet we firstly cover the conservatory in a special UPVC foam cleaner, this loosens any algae and general dirt and grime. If there is any Lichen on the roof, this needs to be carefully removed with a bronze wool pad. Then the whole conservatory exterior is scrubbed with a soft flocked brush to gently clean away any stubborn dirt and bird mess.
We will then empty out the gutters, flush them through and ensure that all seals are working, any that are damaged or leaking will be repaired or replaced. The entire external surface is then cleaned and rinsed with pure water to get the best finish. Any staining of the UPVC is then removed with a non abrasive cream cleaner and a solvent cleaner.
While the outside of the conservatory dries out we move to the inside and clean the interior of the roof, the windows any light or fan fixtures are cleaned and polished. we hoover out the inside edges of the window frames where dead flies and dirt can collect and we then lubricate the hinges with an effective anti corrosive to ensure that any oxidation or deterioration doesn’t make the windows seize up. The product we use for this is also used as an anti corrosive on the space shuttle!
Finally the outside of the window frames and glass are coated with a hydrophobic sealer which repels water dirt and continues to protect your conservatory long after we have left. This hydrophobic coating generally will last 2-3 years.
